The Female to Male Top Surgery Procedure

Female to male top surgery can be performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your doctor’s recommendation. The first step will be to perform a mastectomy to remove the breast tissue on the chest. In some cases, excess skin will also need to be removed. Next, the remaining tissues will be repositioned to create a more masculine contour to the chest. The nipple and/or areola may need to be repositioned or reduced on the chest to achieve the desired outcome.

Recovery

After your procedure, bandages or gauze may be placed on your surgical site. You may need to wear a support bra to minimize swelling and support your new chest contours. Dr. Willis will provide specific instructions on how to care for your surgical sites, how to take mediations, specific concerns to be aware of, and more. Healing will take several weeks, and as swelling decreases results will become more noticeable.
