About Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a cosmetic treatment that uses a special chemical solution to remove layers of the skin, revealing more youthful skin underneath. New skin is smoother with fewer signs of aging for a brighter, more rejuvenated complexion.

Chemical peels can be used to improve:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Mild scarring
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin tone
  • And more

Who is a Candidate?

Both men and women who would like to improve the appearance of their complexion can benefit from chemical peels. During your consultation we can determine the depth of the peel that is right for you, depending on your skin type, medical history, and aesthetic goals. Our medspa is owned and operated by double board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Willis so you can rely on safe treatments tailored to your skin type and skin concerns.

You may not be a candidate for chemical peels if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of abnormal scarring, have certain skin conditions, or take medications that make your skin more sensitive. To learn if this treatment is right for you, schedule a consultation appointment at our office today.

Dr. Willis and his staff were amazing! Very calm, clean and professional atmosphere. They were inviting and attentive. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I went in for a consultation and had my lip filler procedure in the same day. Quick and painless. The results are perfect. I highly recommend Dr.Willis and taking advantage of the referral program. 10/10!

Dr. Willis did a wonderful job with my surgery. He explained everything very well beforehand so I knew what to expect throughout the process. I would highly recommend Dr. Willis for any plastic surgery procedures. His patient care coordinator Leah is excellent and always available to assist with any questions and concerns.

Dr. Willis and Leah have been so great to me in my cosmetic surgery experience. They always answer my questions, they are so kind. I couldn’t see myself going to anyone else.

I am over the moon with my results from Dr. Willis after a breast lift and an abdominoplasty. Dr. Willis and his team are so easy to work with. He listened to what I wanted and gave me beautiful results- better than I could have even hoped for. If you’re thinking about getting a procedure done with Dr. Willis my advice would be DO IT!

The Chemical Peel Treatment

Chemical peels are available in different depths to address skin concerns of varying severity.

Light peels

These peels are superficial, meaning that they only remove the outermost layer of the epidermis. This option can treat acne, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and dryness. Light peels can be repeated every 2-5 weeks.

Medium peels

Medium peels remove skin cells from the epidermis and the top of the dermis. It is a great option for treating acne scars, lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin tone.

Deep peels

Deep chemical peels remove skin cells even deeper than medium peels and can be used to treat deeper wrinkles or scars. Only one deep peel is needed for optimal results.

Recovery

Following a chemical peel, your skin may be red, swollen, irritated, or tight. It is important that you avoid scratching or rubbing your skin and avoid exfoliating. We will provide you with directions regarding sun protection, cleansing, and moisturizing depending on the peel of your choice. Overall downtime will vary depending on the depth of your peel. Once your skin is completely healed you can feel free to use cosmetics, and don’t forget to wear sunscreen!
