Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Pennington (Nurse Practitioner) grew up in a military family, moving frequently and experiencing life across the globe. Her diverse upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for connection, adaptability, and service. She earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in nursing from the University of Virginia School of Nursing.
Allyson spent several years as a critical care intensivist nurse, along with invaluable experience from labor and delivery, reproductive health, and hormonal management. With a practice that bridges the worlds of intensive care and family-based medicine, Allyson offers a unique and holistic approach to wellness at every stage of life.
She blends deep clinical expertise with personalized care, empowering individuals to feel confident and supported in their health journey. She provides care that is both evidence-based and deeply human.
Outside of work, Allyson enjoys experimenting as an at-home barista, exploring local wineries and breweries, and cheering on the University of Virginia at sporting events. She shares her home with a charismatic tuxedo cat who proudly sports a bow tie and a mustache.
