Beach holidays are just one of the compelling reasons to get the more prominent, perkier breasts you’ve always wanted! Swimsuits and other form-fitting clothing can be embarrassing for women who are self-conscious about their breasts. Thankfully, breast augmentation can alleviate this issue by creating a bigger, more defined bust that looks great in bikini tops and one-piece swimsuits.

What is a Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is an incredibly popular procedure for those looking to change the shape and size of their breasts. This is done with the help of a qualified surgeon like Dr. Rhett Willis. placing saline, silicone, or gummy bear breast implants under or above the pectoral muscles.

Whether your breasts aren’t looking the way you want them due to pregnancy, weight loss, or another reason, breast augmentation surgery may be the right solution for you.

Breast Augmentation Recovery

After a breast augmentation, there is typically some swelling, bruising, and discomfort around the breast area. Dr. Willis. will advise you to wear a supportive surgical bra to minimize swelling and support your new breasts.

You will also need to limit exercise for a couple of weeks and follow any post-op instructions Dr. Willis. gives you.

With this in mind, there are a few things you’ll want to remember when planning a beach vacation where you’re flying or swimming.

What to Know About Swimming and Flying After Breast Augmentation

The further apart you can plan your trip and breast augmentation, the better. You should wait until your incisions are completely healed before taking a long trip. Give yourself plenty of time after surgery to recover before going on vacation.

Everyone’s recovery timeframe may vary, but here are some general guidelines:

  • It’s best to wait at least four weeks before diving into the pool. You want your incisions to be fully healed.
  • Before swimming in the lake, ocean, or any other natural body of water, give yourself at least three months’ notice. Because this water is untreated, your incisions must heal entirely before you go swimming to prevent bacterial infection.
  • Due to the potential for increased upper-body strain while swimming, you must be fully healed. Make sure you seek your surgeon’s okay before going swimming after surgery.
  • When flying following surgery, give yourself at least six weeks to recover. You will want to be sure to not lift heavy bags and items while traveling.
