PRP Treatment

PRP treatments use a three-step process. First, a vial of blood will be drawn from your arm to harvest the platelets used during treatment. The blood is rapidly spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the PRP necessary for your injections. Once the blood has been separated, a concentration of platelet-rich plasma is injected into your scalp in the areas of hair loss or balding. A topical anesthetic or regional nerve blocks can be applied before these injections to minimize your discomfort during treatment.

Recovery

Recovery from PRP injections is minimal and most patients can resume all normal activities immediately after treatment. However, you should avoid hair dyes and other products with harsh chemicals so that you do not damage the healing injection sites on your scalp or the newly forming hair follicles. Results can typically be seen 6-12 months after treatment and the new hair growth will continue to grow naturally with the rest of your hair.
