Dr. Vastine
Welcome
I appreciate your interest in this office and the Plastic and Reconstructive services I offer. Many people are unaware of the scope of plastic surgery. “Plastic” means to change or mold, and this is the basic principle of the specialty. Reconstructive plastic surgery corrects abnormalities caused by birth, trauma, cancer, or other disease processes. Cosmetic plastic surgery changes your appearance to improve self-esteem and even quality of life. Both aspects are important to the overall specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Not all plastic surgeons have the same services or even the same background and training. I hope this website will help acquaint you with me and my practice.
About Dr. Vastine
Dr. Vastine specializes in plastic surgery for the breast and body. She is board certified in both plastic surgery and general surgery, and has been in private practice in Charlottesville, VA since 1998. She now sees patients in her private office on Peter Jefferson Parkway, where she does facial injections and minor procedures. She performs surgery at both the Martha Jefferson Hospital and at the Martha Jefferson Outpatient Surgery Center.
Originally from Texas, Dr. Vastine completed both her undergraduate and medical degrees at Texas A&M University. She completed a 6 years general surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego, where she served as chief resident. Finally, she came to Charlottesville for her plastic surgery residency, completing a 2 year training program at the University of Virginia.
Balancing a busy work life with an equally busy home life, Dr. Vastine and her husband are raising 4 children here in Charlottesville. She enjoys the challenges provided by a rigorous surgery practice as well as the opportunities it affords her to find creative solutions for each patient’s unique issues and concerns.
